The NA and NB Mazda MX-5 are 4x100 cars, and the wheel our MX-5 customers run is the SpeedWorks SW08 in 15x8 +15. It is a deep-dish, old-school JDM style wheel drilled for both 4x100 and 4x114.3, and the same size is on customer EG and EK Civics, a CH Lancer and a CE Mirage. A 15x8 at +15 sits well out in the guard, so check your ride height and guards first, and ask us if you are unsure.
Why 15x8 suits old-school cars
Lightweight 90s and early 2000s cars like the MX-5, Civic and Mirage look right on a small-diameter wheel with a wide lip. A 15 inch wheel leaves room for a tyre with more sidewall than an 18, which keeps the period look. The 8 inch width and low +15 offset push the face of the wheel out toward the guard, which is what gives the SW08 its deep dish.
The SW08 at a glance

Because it is drilled for 4x100 and 4x114.3, one wheel covers most four-stud Japanese cars from the era. Offset, brake clearance and guard clearance still need to be checked for your car. Free SpeedWorks centre caps are included.

Mazda MX-5 NA and NB
Both an NA and an NB customer run the SW08 15x8 +15. The MX-5 is a small, light roadster and an 8 inch wide wheel at +15 fills the guard much more than factory wheels do. Depending on your suspension, ride height and tyre choice, it may need guard work or a lowered ride height, so ask us about your car before ordering.
Hub-centric rings for the MX-5
The MX-5 hub is 54.1 mm, which is not one of the ring sizes we list, so message us before ordering and we will sort out the right ring for your car.
Honda Civic EG and EK
Three of our Civic hatch customers (one EG, two EK) run the SW08 15x8 +15. These Civics are 4x100, so they use the 4x100 drilling. The EK9 Type R is five-stud and does not suit the SW08. A 73.1 to 56.1 hub-centric ring suits the four-stud Civic hub, available in alloy and plastic.
Mitsubishi Lancer CH and Mirage CE
A customer's CH Lancer and a customer's CE Mirage coupe both run the SW08 15x8 +15. The dual 4x100 and 4x114.3 drilling covers the four-stud Mitsubishi hubs. For the hub ring, message us with your model and year, or choose "Pick for me".
Working out how far a 15x8 +15 sticks out
To compare the SW08 with your current wheels, put both sizes into our wheel offset calculator. As a rule of thumb, every 1 mm of lower offset moves the whole wheel 1 mm outward, and every extra inch of width adds about 12.7 mm to each side. So if your current wheel is narrower and has a higher offset, the SW08 face will sit noticeably further out, while the inner edge may barely move. Check your current wheel size and offset on the back of a spoke or on your placard.
