BMW 3 Series E46, E90 and E92 wheel fitment on 5x120

The BMW 3 Series E46, E90 and E92 use a 5x120 stud pattern, and our customers run both square and staggered setups on them. The most common is the SW02 staggered 19x8.5 +30 front / 19x9.5 +25 rear, fitted to an E46 M3, an E46 330Ci and an E92 coupe. Square options include the SW02 19x8.5 +30 and the SW12 18x9.5 +22 on an E46 sedan, and the SW06 18x8.5 +30 on an E90.

E46, E90 and E92 stud pattern and centre bore

  • Stud pattern (PCD): 5x120
  • Hub centre bore: 72.6 mm
  • SpeedWorks centre bore: 73.1 mm on every SW passenger wheel
  • Load rating: 690 kg per wheel, certified JWL, VIA and AS1638

These BMWs use wheel bolts rather than studs and nuts. Check that your bolts have the right seat and length for an aftermarket wheel before fitting.

Staggered setups for the E46 M3, 330Ci and E92

The SW02 is a flow-formed wheel in Hyper Black or Machine Lip, available in 5x120 as a matched staggered set: 19x8.5 +30 front and 19x9.5 +25 rear. It is the setup on our E46 M3, E46 330Ci and E92 coupe builds. From $250 per wheel.

A staggered set gives a wider rear wheel and tyre. The trade-off is that you cannot rotate tyres front to rear. The rear 9.5 inch wheel at +25 sits further out than the front, so a wider or lower-offset setup like this may need guard work or a lowered ride height depending on the car; ask us.

The E9x M3 also uses 5x120, but we don't have one in our gallery. The stud pattern matches, but offset, brake clearance and guards must be checked before ordering.

Square setups

SW02 19x8.5 +30

An E46 sedan runs the SW02 as a square set of four 19x8.5 +30. A square setup lets you rotate tyres and is simpler to buy for.

SW12 18x9.5 +22

The SW12 is a cast 10-spoke, available in 5x120 in Hyper Black and Machine Lip at 18x9.5 +22. An E46 sedan runs it as a square set. It is the widest, most aggressive fitment in our BMW builds, so it may need guard work or a lowered ride height depending on the car; ask us. From $250 per wheel.

SW06 18x8.5 +30 and 18x9.5 +28

An E90 runs the SW06 in 18x8.5 +30. The SW06 also comes in 5x120 18x9.5 +28 in Gloss Black and Machine Lip. There is no BMW build on the 18x9.5 +28 yet, so offset, brake clearance and guards must be checked. From $225 per wheel.

Choosing a size

Goal Proven option
Staggered look on an E46 or E92 SW02 19x8.5 +30 / 19x9.5 +25
Square 19 inch on an E46 SW02 19x8.5 +30
Aggressive square 18 inch on an E46 SW12 18x9.5 +22
Conservative 18 inch on an E90 SW06 18x8.5 +30

To compare these with your current wheels, use the wheel offset calculator. Check your tyre placard and current wheels before ordering.
