Victoria has one of the most active drift scenes in the country: several clubs run drift days at Calder Park on Melbourne's north-west edge, and Winton hosts the festival weekends.
Where to drift in Victoria
Calder Park Raceway
Where most Victorian drift days happen, on the circuit and the Thunderdome area. Three groups run regular events here.
Winton Motor Raceway
Home of the state's drift festival weekends, including VicDrift's Matsuri events and Keep it Reet's spring “Reetsuri”. If you want a full weekend of seat time, these are the ones to plan for.

Getting on track
Depending on the event: a Motorsport Australia licence, an AASA licence or the club's own, and some also need club membership.
An approved helmet (AS1698 or better), long sleeves, long pants and closed shoes.
No leaks or loose items, a secured battery, and usually a fire extinguisher and marked tow points.
New to drifting? Start with a drift school, a skid pan session or a learn-to-drift day before an open practice day. Entry rules change, so always check the event page before you book.
