South Australia has two strong drift venues within easy reach of Adelaide, Mallala to the north and The Bend at Tailem Bend. Between the venue's own events and the Drifting SA club, there's something on most months.
Where to drift in South Australia
Mallala Motorsport Park
The venue runs its own drift program: Drift Nights (a non-competitive Saturday night event), Skidpan Saturdays and a 12-hour Mallala Matsuri. Drifting SA also runs practice days and State Series rounds here.
The Bend Motorsport Park
Drifting SA runs most of its program here: Super Pracs, drift school and skid pan days, freestyle events and State Series rounds. Events need a RACERS Clubman Licence (day or annual), and the circuit is for intermediate drivers and up. Advanced drivers need a cage and harnesses.

Getting on track
Depending on the event: a Motorsport Australia licence, an AASA licence or the club's own, and some also need club membership.
An approved helmet (AS1698 or better), long sleeves, long pants and closed shoes.
No leaks or loose items, a secured battery, and usually a fire extinguisher and marked tow points.
New to drifting? Start with a drift school, a skid pan session or a learn-to-drift day before an open practice day. Entry rules change, so always check the event page before you book.
